My Jewish roots ^ here in Charlotte are very solid. ^ Back in the 1900s in downtown ^ Charlotte stood one of the first locations for Temple Israel. It’s also the location where one of ^ the first Jewish weddings in Charlotte took place: Harry and Rebecca Roth, my great grand parents. They also cel- ebrated their golden anniversary and many other milestones there. Which lead to the wedding of my grandparents and my parents at Temple Israel, to the bris of my brother and finally on March 16, when I was bom, my nam ing at Temple Israel. After my naming, I joined “Mommy’s morn ing ouf ’ or as it is known now - Shalom Baby. Throughout my life. I’ve attended Camp Barney Medintz, religious school at Temple Israel, JR congregation, and joined a Birthright Israel trip in 2007 - all of which lead me to where I am today. When Tair Giudice of the Jewish Federation asked me what my “ish” was, as in being JewISH. I have immersed myself in “ish.” A lot of my time, outside of being a teacher, is focused on BBYO (as the Charlotte City Director) and as the Jewish Federation’s tions during holidays and Friday night Shabbat dinner are also a big part of all of it.
