The Charlotte Jewish News - February 2011 - Page 17 Mid-Winter Shabbaton on Friday, February 18 at Ohr HaTorah As this year of 5771 is a leap year, we are blessed with two Purims. The first Purim falls on Friday, February 18, the second which is considered the main Purim falls on Sunday, March 20. The reason for the two Purims is that we have two months of Adar to complete the leap year. We will be celebrating the first Purim, also known as the small Purim with a fabulous Shabbaton at Ohr HaTorah. The Shabbaton will feature holiday foods and Purim fun. It is a great way for people to get into the Purim spirit a full month before the big and more know Purim. The Shabbaton program will begin at 5:50 PM with a Shabbat candle lighting ceremony fol lowed by a lively Kabbalat Shabbat service at 6 PM. A deli cious Shabbat dinner will follow the service. A full wine bar featur ing excellent Israeli wines will be available for the adults and great CLongregation MaTorah a pr0jtci Qj LuJ^iJvirch oj hiorth Carolina story telling for the children. The Ohr HaTorah Shabbatons have gained a reputation of a fan tastic Shabbat program which is geared to excite the senses and awaken the soul to the inner joy of Judaism. Fee for Shabbaton is $18 per person or $50 per family. This event is open to the entire commu nity.
