Book Collection
Benefits Givat Olga
By Julia Winer
For my mitzvah project, I teamed up with Charlotte’s sis
ter city in Israel, Hadera, the Jewish Federation’s
Partnership 2000 community. I have gathered and donated
books to the library in Givat Olga, an underprivileged
neighborhood in Hadera. The library is a great place for kids
to meet and socialize after school; therefore, it keeps them
off the streets and out of trouble.
We have collected over 500 books and plan to send them
over to Israel in the next month. We have also raised $ 1,800
for the library in cash donations for people who could not
travel with books.
I am so excited to visit Israel and Givat Olga with my
family this summer and meet all the kids at the library. ^
