The Charlotte Jewish News - April 2011 - Page 2 I % % % % % % % % % JEWISH FEDERATION NEWS MAIN Main Event co-chair Gale Osborne, guest speaker Dennis Prager, and co-chair Rich Osborne. Over 500 people attended The Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte’s Main Event featuring nationally known radio host and speaker, Dennis Prager. The evening began with an introduetion by event eo-ehairs, Gale Osborne and Rieh Osborne. The siblings entertained the audi- enee with a well-timed “eomedy” routine and talked about the good works of our loeal federation. In order to assist the Federation in its attempt at staying eurrent with new teehnology, the audienee was then asked to engage in text philanthropy to raise additional dollars for the Annual Campaign. Two-hundred and forty people texted PRAGER to a phone num ber on their eell phones and reeeived a “thank you for giving generously” text in return. In a thought provoking speeeh, Prager shared his views on “Flow to Lead a Jewish Life.” Fie refer- eneed many personal examples ranging from a life ehanging visit to the Former Soviet Union at age 21, to his reeent visit to a Chabad SC Gale Osborne demonstrates text philanthropy.
