The Charlotte Jewish News - May 2011 - Page 9 Vav Class Washington DC Trip The Temple Israel Religious Sehool Vav Class (6th graders) are getting ready for their year-end trip to Washington DC. The stu dents have been studying the his tory of the Jewish people with spe- eial emphasis on life in the Diaspora. They learned about the perseeution of Jews and studied the Holoeaust in great detail. The Washington trip over Memorial Day weekend will give the stu dents and parents a ehanee to visit the Holoeaust museum with their elassmates and a parent. They will also have the opportunity to see Arlington National Cemetery where many of the Ameriean lib erators of the eoneentration eamps have been laid to rest. Visiting the many memori als and also the Marine Corps Museum will round out this exeiting two day trip. The Vav elass is espe- eially thankful to the Men’s Club who generous ly helps to finanee the trip.
