The Charlotte Jewish News - August 2011 - Page 12 Tishrei Membership 2011 at the Lake Norman Jewish Congregation The Lake Norman Jewish Congregation has onee again deeided to avoid adopting the eon- eept of “High Holy Day Tiekets.” Therefore, this year, for the see- ond time, they are doing some thing a bit different and inviting individuals and families to join us as members for the Hebrew month of Tishrei. In addition to spending the hol idays with us, they want Tishrei members to experienee what it feels like to be an integral part of the LNJC, get to know us and get to know Rabbi Shields, the first full time ordained rabbi in Lake Norman. Cheek out our website www.lakenormanje.org for more information. ^ Rabbi Aaron Weininger to Serve in Statesville Rabbi Aaron Weininger is honored and delighted to serve Congregation Emanuel as the Legaey Heritage Rabbinie Fellow. A senior rabbinieal stu dent at the Jewish Theologieal Seminary, he is eoneentrating in pas toral eare and is a reeipi- ent of the Sehusterman Rabbinieal Fellowship. He is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned a BA in Anthropology and Jewish Near Eastern Studies. Aaron eom- pleted his first two 400 hour units of Clinieal Pastoral Edueation as a ehaplain intern at Bellevue Hospital in New York, where he provided pastoral eare on inten sive eare, trauma, and adult and adoleseent psyehiatrie units. This summer he is eompleting his third unit of CPE training, where his pastoral eare is devoted to serving older adults on the Lower East Rabbi Aaron Weininger Side of Manhattan. His synagogue fieldwork as a rabbinie intern and teaeher spans aeross the Eastern Seaboard, from Maine to Florida, and throughout the Metropolitan New York area. Having sung in an a eappella group in eol- lege, Aaron served in both rabbinie and eanto- rial High Holy Day positions at Colgate University Hillel for the first three years of rabbinieal sehool and sub sequently with the Conservative Synagogue of the Hamptons. Complementing his studies in the elassroom, he was seleeted for the eross-denominational CLAL Rabbis Without Borders Fellowship. Aaron is beginning his seeond year on the staff of Park Slope Jewish Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he lives. ^
