Most days you come across people or organiza tions that are in it only for them selves. But the Levine-Sklut Judaic Library and Resource Center is different. The JLRC, our local treasure chest of Jewish knowledge, history, and culture, has a myriad of programs and resources available to anyone who enters their doors. The Judaic Library Gives You the Answers You Need Books and Reference Materials: more than 16,000 items: books, DVDs, CDs, posters, games, and curriculum aids. Adult Education: The Florence Melton Adult Mini-School has been successfully launched. Holocaust Education: Anne Frank exhibit; fiction and non-fic- tion; feature films and documen taries. Mini-CAJE: Conference for local Jewish teachers’ professional development. Parenting library: Jewish Family Services’ parenting resources for both Jewish and sec ular issues. The Judaic Library Makes Your Community a Better Place Preserving History: The Charlotte Jewish Historical Archives collects and preserves the history of our area. Promoting Understanding: The Bridge to Tolerance initiative pro vides books and resources on diversity, anti-bullying, and anti- Semitism. Judaic “Mobile” Library: books are brought to area assisted living facilities; books are being permanently loaned to the Lake Norman and North Charlotte area; a regular delivery of books is made to the schools on the Shalom Park campus. Children’s Programming: Rhythm, Rhyme, and Story Time; Mensch ‘n’ More; Mother- Daughter Book Club. The Judaic Library Helps You Broaden Your Horizons Extensive DVD collection; co sponsor in a documentary film series; Jewish author speaking engagements; learning Hebrew Every donation made to the library Endowment Fund will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000, by the Levine and Skiut families.
