Gurion Society* cordially
invites you to A Special Evening
with Alina Gerlovin Spaulding
on Thursday, December 15, 7:30
PM, in the Weinberg Center at
the Levine JCC. Dessert recep
tion to follow.
In 1948, David Ben-Gurion
became the face of a great new
generation of Jews. Today, the
Ben-Gurion society embodies
his legacy: Young men and
women who combine their
power, passion, and resources to
build a strong and responsible
Jewish community, at home, in
Israel and around the world.
This year, the Ben-Gurion
Society is proud to host Alina
Gerlovin Spaulding - a dynamic,
young Soviet emigre now living
the American dream. Fler story is
a miracle story in which we each
Ber-Gurior
share a part.
Alina tells her
story of being the r,
daughter of an
Olympic hopeful for the Soviet
ski team. One accident changed
her family’s life. Her family tried
unsuccessfully to escape and had
nearly lost hope until 1979
when, with the help of Jewish
agencies funded by our Jewish
Federation dollars, Alina was
able to immigrate to this country.
Not only has she overcome many
obstacles, she has continued the
“act of giving” back to the
Jewish community.
Alina is now involved in
humanitarian causes in the
United States and overseas. She
currently works for the American
Hebrew Academy as the Director
of Communication.
