The Charlotte Jewish News - February 2012 - Page 21 Beth El Introduces New Bereavement Healing Service Beginning Friday, February 3 Many people in our eommunity have experieneed the death of loved ones in the weeks, months and year gone by. As we embraee Shabbat and stop the ehaos of our weekday world, our publie dis plays of mourning are meant to eease. Yet still, it is on Shabbat when work is no longer a distrae- tion that we feel the pain of our loss more profoundly. The loved ones with whom we onee shared Shabbat are no longer by our sides in synagogue or sitting with us at our Shabbat tables. Shabbat is a time of healing, as is refleeted in the greeting “Shabbat Shalom,” whieh wishes for the reeipient to have a Sabbath of wholeness and peaee. In that spirit, on the first Friday of eaeh month, at 7:15 PM (in between Beth El’s Kabbalat Shabbat Serviee and Shabbat Evening wor ship), the eongregation will offer an experimental and new bereave ment healing serviee. Through prayers and words of refleetion. those who have experieneed loss es will be assisted on moving for ward on the journey through grief. All are weleome. Join us to eonneet with others who have lost loved ones. Join us to find healing, to find eommunity and to find the eomfort of Shabbat. ^ 9, TEMPLE ^ BETH EL Tl Men’s Club Annual World Wide Wrap Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 8 AM Temple Israel spotlights all the mitzvot assoeiated with tefillin at the annual World Wide Wrap on February 5.
