Temple Beth El University, an adult edueation program for easu- al or sophistieated adult learners, is the right plaee to be to learn and beeome involved. TBEU eom- bines interaetive, diseussion-based environments with dynamie eourse offerings. Jews and non- Jews alike are weleome to attend. Registration for TBEU’s next three-week minimester begins April 1. TBEU eourses are offered on three eonseeutive Wednesdays: May 2, 9, and 16. Our lineup for this spring ineludes two faseinat- ing eourses: From 7-9 PM, Rabbi David Powers will enlighten his students with “Jewish Thought Part III: Responsa Literature.” Responsa literature is eomposed of answers by rabbis to questions of Jewish law and praetiee that eome from other rabbis and from lay people. Through the eourse, adult learners will examine traditional and elas- sieal responsa from eenturies of Jewish life, look at the unique responsa of the Shoah (the “Souls of Our Neighbors: Fears, Facts, and Affordable Housing” A Beth El Effort to End and Prevent Homelessness Affordable housing. Flome- lessness. One ean get over whelmed by trying to understand these issues. One ean get over whelmed by trying to solve the problem. We began the New Year of 2012 with a eommunity resolu tion. Mayor Foxx proelaimed this “The Year of our Neighbors” as Beth El, along with Meeklenburg Ministries and Crossroads Charlotte, released the doeumen- tary “Souls of our Neighbors: Fears, Faets, and Affordable Housing.” Join Beth El for a Shabbat morning viewing of the doeumen- tary and workshop on Saturday, April 21 from 9-10:15 AM, and deepen your understanding of affordable housing. Homelessness is a puzzle. It is impossible for any one of us to solve it in its entirety. But it is possible to solve, if eaeh of us pieks up one more pieee of the puzzle.
