For more information about the Women’s Professional Network, or to RSVP, please eon- taet Sue Littauer at sue .littauer@j ew- isheharlotte.org. ^ lEWISH^'S' WPN Focus on Social Action “I had just given birth and found out it was a baby girP’, said the speaker to the 15 women gathered at a workshop on a Sunday morning at the LJCC. “My first thought was, how was I going to keep her safe?” For the next two hours, the attendees, most members of Women’s Professional Network of the Jewish Federation, found answers to that ques tion and many more at a workshop on domestie abuse and healthy relationships spon sored by WPN and Shalom Bayit-NC. “WPN has adopted domestie abuse as its soeial aetion plat form,” said WPN Chair Kelly Gaines. “For our women to be effeetive advoeates and make a differenee in our Jewish eommunity, we knew the first step would be to get some edueation,” she eon- tinued.
