Geography of the Prayer Book Class at Ohr HaTorah One of the popular hit songs of the Megama musieal duo in the ‘80s was “I’ve got the ‘what page are we in the prayer book’ blues”; “Do I sit or stand in the syna gogue’ blues.” Many people who like attending serviees feel as if the prayer book is a foreign doeu- ment and at times very eonfusing. Even the user friendly Siddur that has been redesigned with elear and easy instruetions seems to eonfound some parishioners. The Jewish Feaming Institute at Ohr HaTorah has devised a solution to this problem by ereat- ing a three week erash eourse that will help even beginners navigate through the prayer book. The eourse whieh is entitled “Geography of the Prayer Book” will give users easy tips and explanations in understanding the strueture of the prayers and help people find their way in their prayers with ease and eomfort. The eourse is set for three Tuesdays beginning July 10, at 7:30-9 PM. The elasses will foeus of the Shabbat prayers whieh are when attendanee in synagogues is the highest. The elass is open to everyone in the eommunity and the fee is $36 per person.
