The Charlotte Jewish News - November 2012 - Page 15 Warnedy hJewy Hadassah Supports Breast Cancer Month by Introducing the Celebrate the Ta-Tas Event Approximately 100 local women, artists, and photographers had their visual voices symbolized by inspiring works of art as sur vivors and community members had their tatas painted and then photographed for a good cause, to raise funds for Breast Cancer re search. Celebrate the Tatas is a two- part initiative which kicked off October 18 at Shalom Park’s Gorelick Hall where dozens of women opted to have their tatas be a canvas for local female artists and photographers who volun teered their time. Also caring, local vendors made generous do nations. All photographs are anonymous, so while you may know that someone was a volun teer, the mystery of which photo graph they were captured in will be a secret for only her to share. The unveiling of the fun and heartwarming art is taking place November 3 at Butter Night Club. The special event will offer more than just the chance for Charlot- teans to purchase their favorite photograph. Cupcakes and cock tails at a cash bar will be available if you are looking for something sweet, while a specialty oil and vinegar tastings will satisfy those looking for a little savory heat. In addition, party goers will have an opportunity to participate in a liv ing art memorial wall. Dozens of door prizes (tickets sold sepa rately) will be given throughout the night including gift certificates from Teri Seidman Interiors, Cowfish, Modern Salon, Bear Yoga, Olive This, and a $500 shopping spree from Neiman Marcus. “Breast Cancer affects so many people that having these unique events provide an exciting way for people to get involved,” said Talia Goldman, event chair. Tickets for the Tatas Event which is taking place from 8:30 PM to midnight at Butter Night Club will be sold at the door for $10 per person. This also gains you entrance into the night club for the remainder of the evening. Dress to impress. Cash and check accepted only to purchase the photographs. Plenty of free park ing for all. Proceeds from this initiative will be going to Hadassah Breast Cancer research. ^ HA SAH “Holocaust Survivors’ Cookbook” Au thor Brings Tzedakah and Inspiration to Charlotte Hadassah The Charlotte Chapter of Hadassah, with help from the Sun City Hadassah Circle, is proud to welcome Joanne Caras, author of the “Holocaust Survivor Cook book” and “Miracles and Meals” to Charlotte on December 2.
