Our new play grounds were ereated to allow ehildren to explore their natural world. At CJP, we value the power of outdoor play. Many things that our ehildren must aehieve are en- haneed and developed with a strong outdoor play faeility. These inelude exploring, risk-taking, fine and gross motor development and problem solving skills. More and more in our eulture, outdoor play is being replaeed with teeh- nology. Presehools have been known to take away playground time and in its plaee put aeademie standards that push developmen- tally inappropriate programs at presehoolers. At CJP We Love To Play! Play is erueially important to ehildren’s eognitive, soeial, emo tional, and physieal development. Expert researeh eonfirms that the best presehool edueation is de signed around meaningful, enrieh- ing, interaetive play experienee. On our playground, our teaehers love to wateh their students as they ereate imaginary worlds. From raeing to the top of the grassy knolls to be king of the eas- tle to riding down the hillside slide into the eroeodile pit, our students’ imagination is getting a work along with their little legs. On our newly eonstrueted hard surfaee spaee, the ehildren are shooting balls into the basketball bueket, dribbling, and passing the balls to eaeh other. For those not inter ested in playing with the balls, this surfaee is eovered with beautiful ehalk art. Our student yogis ean sit near the trees or diseuss world is sues amongst the mushrooms. Everywhere you look the presehoolers are aetively and hap pily engaged. This year, CJP’s Open House is on Friday, January 11. We’ll be showeasing our world-elass pre sehool to prospeetive families who will be looking for the perfeet plaee for their ehildren to build a strong foundation for their seeular and Jewish edueation.
