TOTAL 2013 ALLOCATIONS Faced with the responsibility and challenge of effectively distributing funds, the 2013 Allocations Committee (see below), under the leadership of Lisa Blau and Mark Weintraub, worked conscientiously and tirelessly to insure a thorough and impactful allocations process. With the addition of the Community Impact Fund, currently funded agencies and other organizations had the opportunity to request funding to provide new or expanded programs and initiatives that meet critical community and Federation priorities. Includes Bernstein Leadership, Campaign Event Sponsorships, Holocaust Education Workshops, Shalom Park Freedom School, Teen Philanthropy, Buttiright Israel experiences. Special Fund The Jewish Federation's Community Impact Fund grants are intended to inspire individuals, organizahons, synagogues, and agencies to provide innovative and impactful engagement opportunities for the greater Charlotte Jewish community. Ballantvne Jewish Center: Provide residents of the Sun City community $5,500 Jewish programming to foster a deeper sense of pride and appreciation of their Jewish heritage. The Butterfly Project: Create videotapes of stories of local Holocaust $10,000 survivors to use in the Butterfly Project workshops, and provide enhanced volunteer training. Charlotte Jewish Film Festival: Develop a mobile app to engage and attract $2,000 young audiences. Consolidated High School of Jewish Studies: Expand a Hebrew class $3,000 providing Hebrew High students foreign language credit at their public & private high schools. Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning: Support the hiring of a $15^000 part-time Melton Director to insure the long-term growth and continuity of this impactful Jewish literary curriculum. JAFI/JFGC - Israel at 65: Create a full year of Israel engagement programming $13 400 for the Charlotte community in celebration of Israel at 65. Jewish Educational Loan Fund: Provide interest-free loans to Charlotte area $2,000 college students. Moishe House: Provide meaningfulJewish experiences for young adults in $17,500 Charlotte by supporting leaders in their 20's as they create a vibrant home-based Jewish community. PJ Library: Strengthen the identities of Jewish families and their relationships $10,000 to the Jewish community by offering free, high quality Jewish books and music to families raising Jewish children ages six months through eight years. Shalom Park Freedom School; Pro vide year-round programming to further $1,000 support the 6-week summer enrichment program for economically disadvantaged children. Temple Kol Ami: Fund a 5cho/or-in-ffesidence weekend to increase the $5,500 knowledge of and connection to Jewish teachings, principles and traditions for the York County Jewish community. Viva Klezmer: Educate grade school students about Jewish culture and diversity $750 through music. ISRAEL AND OUR GLOBAL FAMILY Israel and Overseas $934,025 Meets the needs of Jews in Israel and world-wide through Jewish Federations of North America.
