The Charlotte Jewish News - February 2013 - Page 10 Hebrew High 8th Grade Students are “Fit to Be Jewish” This year’s Hebrew High 8th grade retreat foeused on the im- portanee of having a fit body, mind, and soul. Students explored Jewish texts that pointed the way to a healthy life style and did ae- tivities that put these teaehings into praetiee. They exereised, did yoga, and ate healthy meals, all to produee healthy bodies. They partieipated in the “Butterfly Projeet,” to eon- neet with the soul of their people. They ereated a delieious, healthy meal to be donated to the JFS food pantry and learned that our souls are nourished when we help oth ers. A highlight of the weekend, was a talk by Dr. Andrea Umbaeh, of Southeast Psyehiatrie. She ad dressed the students’ eoneem about stress in their lives and helped them learn important eop- ing skills. The skills learned at this retreat will help our students de velop healthy minds, bodies and spirits, all within a Jewish eontext. The partieipants agreed that the weekend was fun and informative. Thanks to our dedieated group of teaehers, who gave up a week end with their families to help our Jewish teens develop into healthy adults. ^ PICK A ROSENFELD for All Your Real Estate Needs ~ Over 35 Years Experience ~ t ^ Home 704-321-0220 ^ Barbara Helen Adams Realty 704-517-1547 Marshall Queenstowne Realty 704-517-1073 MANN TRAVELS Travel easy.
