Ani Maamin, I Believe, the C JDS Motto
Maimonides (RAMBAM) in
stituted Thirteen Prineiples of
Faith as a foundation for Judaism.
It is true that these prineiples are
not very tangible and ean seem a
bit mueh for ehildren. We at CJDS
really believe that ehildren have
the eapaeity to understand faith
and belief on a mueh deeper, sin-
eere, and innoeent level than we
adults. That is why we ehose Ani
Maamin (I believe) as our motto
for this year. Sinee we would not
have the time to teaeh all thirteen,
we ehose the nine most aeeessible
prineiples for our study. Eaeh
month, a poem was written to rep
resent the eoneept of that speeifie
prineiple. The poem was reeited at
assemblies, at morning announee-
ments, and in elass. The poems
are very simple, but straightfor
ward, but make it possible for
ehildren to eonneet and own it.
I know what I believe;
I know that it is true.
Hashem knows our thoughts.
And sees eaeh thing we do.
He is the One who ereated us.
Gave us eaeh a beating heart.
He understands our aetions.
And intentions from the start.
I know what I believe;
I know that it is true.
Hashem gave us the Torah,
A gift for every Jew.
Moshe passed this wisdom down
To the Jewish nation.
The ehain eontinues on and on
With Jewish edueation.
For their yearbook page, our
graduates wrote their own Ani
Maamin poems as they internal
ized the message in its relevanee
in their own lives. We hope you
enjoy them as mueh we did and
see the lessons that they have
learned from their time at CJDS.
Some of the sehools that our grad
uates are moving on to are Provi-

Middle Sehool, Charlotte Prep,
South Middle.

It is the essence of who we are
So we learn and follow Hashem's
