The intense feeling of awe is palpable in the hearts of Jewish people from all backgrounds. Yet, the day after Yom Kippur the mood is transformed to total joy and happiness with the prepara tions to the onset of Sukkot and Simchat Torah. The joy is a gen uine expression of our confidence that God has granted us all a year of life, health, happiness, and prosperity. The Sukkah holiday is charac terized in the holiday liturgy as the days of our joy. In the spirit of the joy of Sukkot, Ohr HaTorah will host a evening in the Sukkah entitled “Dinner in the Sukkah” which is G.o ngrega t i o n hi^Tor,ih ajmn/ffe oj f HhjvirfJi [i( VofilSC*rrdffitii 4 open to the entire Jewish commu nity in Charlotte. The Sukkah party will take place on Sunday September 22, 5 PM and will feature a full holiday dinner and lively holiday music. Reser vations are required and there is a nominal fee to attend. To re serve please visit our website www.chabadnc.org. Simchat Torah is a day when the joy of Judaism surpasses event the festive days of Sukkot. The famed communal Hakofot service at Ohr HaTorah will be held on Thursday September 26, 7:50 PM. Reservations are not required for this event. Well, we are! Ever wonder if Superheroes can relate to Hebrew School? Join us this year to find out. As summer draws to an end, we at Temple Kol Ami are gearing up for a great start to our third year of Religious School. We will again be partnering with the Institute of Southern Jewish Life to bring a rich curriculum to our classes which range in age from Pre-K through Middle School. We are also excited to add a two-year Confirmation class to our course offerings this year. In addition to our Hebrew and Judaic studies, our students will be working on several whole school projects throughout the year. One of our projects will focus on Jewish Super Heroes. Come join us to discover the inner Jewish Superhero in you. Regis tration has already begun and will continue throughout September.
