For 25 years, a group ealled Women of the Wall has been pray ing at the Western Wall on Rosh Chodesh (at the start of eaeh new Hebrew month). The fight of Women of the Wall is a fight for pluralism in Israel. Out of the desire for ereating a pluralistie Israel, Rabbi Judy and Temple Beth El have helped to ereate an international mission to eelebrate Women of the Wall’s 25th anniversary. We invite all members of the Charlotte eommu- nity to join with women from around the world to eommemo- rate the struggle and eourage of Women of the Wall as we advo- eate for an Israel that fully em- braees pluralism. Originally from Philadelphia, Dara moved to Charlotte this sum mer after graduating with honors from Emory University in Atlanta, where she double majored in Po- litieal Seienee and Religion. As a student, Dara helped lead her eampus AIPAC and has traveled to Israel five times in the last seven years. When Dara visited Charlotte earlier this year, she won over our teens with her insights, enthusi asm, and warmth. Dara eharmed us all by showing spark and ere- ativity, paired with her quiek intel- ligenee and wisdom beyond her years. A eommitted vegetarian sinee age three, when she found out that ehiekens were birds like her fam ily’s pet, Dara brings her own avian eompanion with her to Charlotte. We all look forward to seeing Dara dive into our amazing youth and edueation programs with the same enthusiasm that led her to find a job with the Consulate Gen eral of Greeee while studying abroad in Sydney, Australia. We all are tasked with raising the bar of Jewish knowl edge here in Charlotte.
