I joined the JCC a week after I moved to Charlotte, with a 22 month-old, a one month-old, and not knowing anyone. Having worked in the Jewish community in other cities, I was amazed at how extensive our facilities are and how much our Levine JCC offers. From newborn through the teen years, the J offers so much for families with kids and it became my home away from home. If you’re a mom of a toddler, there is J-Tots, which offers moms of 1 + year-olds a drop-off toddler program. This gives toddlers a chance to socialize and learn, while parents can get errands or work done. We have been able to take part in some of the great Mommy & Me classes such as Music with Ms. Patty, Holiday Hoopla classes, and Strollercize. This gave me the opportunity to meet with other moms and have my kids right there! After the toddler programs my kids easily transitioned into the Preschool classes which are designed to give preschoolers a chance to do extra-curricular activities, such as swimming, sports, arts, science, cooking, and even foreign language! In the summer, the JCC offers amazing Camp programs for ages 2 & up! My kids love the JCC; they think of it as home, and I think of it as a place for all of us to grow and learn. jj JEWISH^ FEDEMTION^ charlotteJcc.org “/ love the J so much, I Joined the staff here, and now I hope I can help shape the J, like it shaped my family. -Stephanie Freedman Levine JCC Charlotte
