parative Religion Series. This
year’s theme, Evil ... Human or
Divine? explores the roots of evil
and the ever ehanging faee of evil
in the world. Guest leeturers will
address the eoneept of evil and
how one’s aetions and responses
are guided by one’s faith. Has
there been a theologieal evolution
regarding the eoneept of evil? Is
evil preordained or a result of free
will? How is evil defined in your
faith’s theology? Is evil neees-
sary?
Edueators and religious lead
ers representing nine Charlotte
area faiths will offer their per-
speetives and respond to your
questions. Seheduled leeturers in-
elude representatives from the
following faiths: Jewish, Greek
Orthodox, Mennonite, Baha’i, Is-
lamie, Unitarian/Universalist,
Evangelieal Presbyterian and
Roman Catholie.

MLK Shabbat experience
is about song, food,
friendship, passion for
prayer, lifting up our
Charlotte community, and
building bridges that will
heal our city.
This year’s exchange will fea
ture a dynamic and passionate
preacher and pastor. Reverend Dr.
Jerry Lytle Cannon,
and the choir of C. N.
Jenkins Memorial
Presbyterian Church.
On Friday, January
17 at Temple Beth
El’s 7 PM Shabbat
Worship Service,
Pastor Cannon will
preach, and C. N.
Jenkins’ choir will
lift our service with their music.
The evening will conclude with a
festive oneg.
