The new building will allow Ohr FlaTorah to accommodate its growing membership with a spa cious sanctuary and an adjacent social hall with ample space for family functions and community events. The new building will in clude a commercial kitchen for both dairy and meat. The added facility will feature a teen lounge and activity center that will serve the Junior congre gation, the JLI teen program, and all other Ohr FlaTorah teen pro grams. A nice library and multi media room will also be included in the addition. The new facility will benefit the Jewish Preschool on Sardis with added space for aftercare programs and a beautiful new multipurpose room will host an array of indoor activities and give new space for school assemblies. The building campaign got a boost with a generous donation of $300,000 from the Kielmanowitcz family in the month of December. Elise and Jaime Kosofsky added to the excitement with their $10,000 donation to the building fund as well. This is in addition to a $1,000,000 pledge that was made two years ago by a member of the congregation, as well as some other generous donations from the Ohr FlaTorah commu nity. Congregation Ohr FlaTorah holds services every day of the week, both morning and evening. The larger group meets on Shab- bat for morning services followed by a Kiddush luncheon every Shabbat. The synagogue also pro vides a full Talmud Torah Flebrew school that meets twice a week in addition to Bat Mitzvah club and JLI teens. The synagogue is buzzing with activity every day of the year. We are also excited about a new mikvah that will be built on the Sardis Road property. The funds for the mikvah have been pledged by an anonymous donor in Charlotte and Mikvah USA which is a Foundation headquar tered in New York. The beautiful new mikvah will be exclusively for women and it will be designed to give users a re freshing, spa-like experience. The Mikvah will be a separate build ing with its own access, to give women a sense of privacy as they observe this special Mitzvah. Look for more exciting infor mation on the building and its de velopments in upcoming issues of the Charlotte Jewish News.
