The Charlotte Jewish News - March 2014 - Page 19 March Events for Havurat Tikvah As March marches in, Havurat Tikvah prepares for yet another busy month. On Sunday, March 2, we will head over to Discovery Place to view the IMAX film Jerusalem. The city is considered the Promised Land for the Jews, the Holy Land for Christians, and the Land of the Prophets for Mus lims, and the film strives to show each side of this rich history. Please see the official synopsis below for more information: “Explore for the first time in IMAX this crossroads of civiliza tion and faith. Jerusalem is a his toric media initiative that comprises a spectacular giant screen film and a multi-year, multi-component public educa tion program. “The film will convey the story of Jerusalem in all its beauty and diversity, illuminating global pub lic opinion and understanding about Jerusalem on a vast scale. We seek to present an exceptional vision of Jerusalem - as a city of universal historical, spiritual, cultural, and archaeological importance - and to promote, with unprecedented impact, toler ance and goodwill between Jews, Christians, and Muslims.” (https://www.imax.com/movies/ m/jerusalem/) Purim begins on March 16, and we plan to celebrate.
