The Charlotte Jewish News - March 2014 - Page 8 Celebrate! March is full of fun activities for both our parents and students at the Charlotte Jewish Preschool. CJP is starting March off by cele brating our 25th Anniversary of our school. Families, past and cur rent, will celebrate this milestone anniversary at Temple Israel on March 1. It was with great vision that Temple Israel and Temple Beth El formed The Charlotte Jewish Pre school in 1988. This vision has laid the foundation for many Jew ish families raising children in Charlotte. Families enroll at CJP when their children are as young as one year of age. They have en rolled for many reasons. These in clude providing an excellent start to a secular education, as well as a desire to experience a lifelong passion for Judaism and ensuring a warm and nurturing environ ment for children to grow while parents are at work. Whatever the reason, our families find so much more. CJP is much more than a school of excellence, but a place where families become connected to the larger Jewish community and develop friendships that last a lifetime. Since Charlotte has had incredible growth over the last 25 years, families have had to create new friend families as they have moved far from their original Expert Watch Repair means utilizing state-or-the art eciuipment. . . , . , and over 40 years experience sen icing fine timei)ieces. wiEuMn GBor^e JakowcEUk^ CrvlillMl WAlzhm^kM' 21 On-site professional service for Rolex, Breitling, Omega, Tag Heuer,Baume & Mercier, Patek Philippe, Philip Stein, and many more. We see our families gather outside school to celebrate Shab- bat, share the Passover Seder, share Bar Mitzvah experiences, have girl weekends together, and watch each other’s children grad uate high school together. The CJP experience lasts far beyond our PreK program. The 25th Anniversary party is a won derful start to our month, however March is chock full of activities for our students and families. As the parents rest after the Saturday evening event, our staff and stu dents are gearing up for one of fa vorite days of the year - Pajama Day. We take Pajama Day very se riously at CJP. Our staff and stu dents will come to school in their cutest pajamas and funniest slip pers and participate in everything from eating pancakes to learning beautiful Jewish bedtime rituals. We will round out the first week in March with a special visit to our CJP Shabbat Program with Mama Doni (on March 7). Mama Doni is a mom, music teacher, songwriter, and lead singer in The Mama Doni Band, honored with a 2011 Parents Choice® Award for their CD, Shabbat Shaboom, and winner of the Simeha Award for “Inspiring Joy Through Music.” We are thankful that CJP’s part ners are sharing Mama Doni with our students prior to her evening performance at Shalom Park. One would think that this would be enough excitement for one month, but the celebration continues with Purim. Our stu dents will learn all about Queen Esther and Cousin Mordechai, dress up in costumes for our Purim Parade through Shalom Park and make and deliver Sha- Charlotte Jewish Preschool lach Manot bags. Their families will able to continue the fun at the community wide Purim Celebra tion on March 16. But there is no time to relax, because when Purim comes to a close our students will begin preparing for the April hol iday of Passover. We will round out the month with wonderful opportunities for parents and students. Our CJP- PTO will sponsor the PTO Mar ketplace is an opportunity to showcase our families that operate their own business. For our stu dents, we will have a visit and per formance from the Tarradiddle Players. There are so many joyous ex periences at The Charlotte Jewish Preschool. CJP would like to thank Temple Beth El, Temple Is rael, and The Levine Jewish Com munity Center for your partnership, leadership and sup port for the last quarter of a cen tury. Be part of the learning, and join our school family. CJP is now en rolling for the 2014-2015 school year. We are happy to give you a tour at your convenience.
