Temple Israel Religious Sehool (TIRS) is eager to share with you our new model for Religious Edueation, whieh will be implemented this eoming fall. The positive and exeiting ehanges are based not only on a survey sent to our Religious Sehool families, but also well-doeumented national trends happening all around us. The major trend to emerge is that families are looking for more flexibility in how they learn about Judaism. A TIRS Task Foree made up of a variety of members of our eommunity worked diligently for several months to develop a strategie plan to address the issue. This plan, reeently approved by the Temple Israel Board of Trustees, will allow your ehildren to attend the Temple Israel Religious Sehool in a manner that best fits your family’s lifestyle. Starting in the fall. Required Edueational Opportunities are: • Sunday Religious School Classes, Grades K-7 - 3 hours • Hebrew Study, using an online applieation that will reinforee eoneepts and skills presented in the elassroom on Sundays. Additional Edueational and Soeial Opportunities inelude: • Tuesday Religious School Classes, Grades 3-7 -1.5 hours, led by our elergy and faeulty • Saturday Junior Congregation, Grades K-6 • Differentiated Learning for extra help or aeeelerated instruetion at no extra eharge for all 3rd-7th grade TIRS students • Temple Israel Youth Group enrollment, at no additional eost for all TIRS students Our ultimate goal is to nurture our ehildren to eelebrate their Jewish identity in the eontext of our modem Ameriean lives, and to eommit to a life of Jewish living and learning. We will be ready to launeh TIRS registration mid-May, so be on the lookout for registration details.
