The Charlotte Jewish News - May 2014 - Page 21 Levine-Sklut Judaic Library and Resource Center New Project at the Library The Levine-Sklut Judaie Li brary is embarking on an exeiting new projeet and we need your input The Levine-Sklut Judaie Li brary is eurrently exploring the possibility of establishing a Cen ter for Holoeaust and Toleranee Edueation to serve as a elearing- house for the diverse and valuable Holoeaust edueational resourees this eommunity offers. As the region’s only Judaie re- souree eenter, the Levine-Sklut Judaie Library regularly fields in quiries from our eommunity and beyond about the Holoeaust, how to teaeh it, and how to make this eomplex topie relevant in today’s elassrooms. Currently there is no eentralized souree of information on loeal Holoeaust resourees; the ereation of a Center for Holoeaust and Toleranee Edueation would provide a single point of aeeess for all things related to the Holo eaust for the greater Charlotte eommunity. By eoordinating and eonsolidating information about full breadth of the region’s oppor tunities, the Library ean do what a Library does best - eonneet pa trons with the resourees that most effeetively meet their needs. Thanks to a generous grant from Stan Greenspon, the Library has eonvened an exploratory eom- mission that will investigate the possibilities and options of a po tential Center for Holoeaust and Toleranee Edueation in Charlotte. A Library Board Task Foree will eonduet the researeh, and an im portant part of the proeess is so- lieiting input and feedbaek from our eonstituents, edueators and the publie about how sueh a Cen ter eould be most valuable, aeees- sible and useful to you.
