Jason Spiegler Receives Bernstein
Young Leadership Award

At the Federation’s Annual Meet
ing on May 12, Jason Spiegler re-
eeived the 2014 Bernstein Young
Leadership Award. This award was
named for Bobbi and Don Bernstein
by the Sixth Class of the Bernstein
Leadership Group in a gesture of ap-
preeiation for the fantastie experi-
enee the elass members had in the
program.
The award reeognizes lay leaders
between the ages of 25 and 45 who
embody the ideals of the Bernstein
Leadership Group - meaning they
take responsibility for the future of
the Charlotte Jewish eommunity.
Reeipients of this award also hold
exemplary reeords of partieipation
and performanee in Federation’s
eommunal affairs and demonstrate
potential to assume signifieant fu
ture leadership positions.
Jason, a 2008 graduate from the
Bernstein Leadership Group, has
served on the Jewish Federation of
Greater Charlotte’s Alloeations
Committee sinee 2010 and on the
Board of Trustees sinee May 2012.
Notably, Jason is a member of the
Ben-Gurion Soeiety, for young
adults eontributing $ 1, 000 or more
to the Federation’s Annual Cam
paign.
Beyond the Federation, Jason
founded the Charlotte Jewish Burger
Club in 2009, whieh in addition to
providing a great reason for young
Jewish guys to meet monthly for
burgers and beers, has raised money
and awareness for various Jewish
ageneies in our loeal eommunity.
The Board and Staff of the Jewish
Federation thank Jason for being an
exemplary leader in both his aetions
and eommitments and for all his
many eontributions as an outstand
ing young leader. ^

JCRC Lunch at the Park
The Jewish Community Relations Couneil
(JCRC) promotes the interests of the Charlotte
Jewish eommunity by ereating working relation
ships with our neighbors and serving as the eol-
leetive voiee of the Jewish eommunity. The
JCRC’s Luneh at the Park invites members of the
greater Charlotte eommunity - ineluding eleeted
offieials, eivie leaders, not for profit organizations.
