The Charlotte Jewish News - May 2015 - Page 19 Moishe House May Events Moishe House is a nonprofit organization dedieated to promot ing eommunity among Jewish young adults in their twenties and early thirties, seeking to fill the void that often exists after gradu ating eollege and prior to settling down. The organization, with 75 houses in 17 eountries, brings to gether Jewish adults who live to gether and plan loeal programs, both home-based and external, for other young Jewish adults. Moishe House Charlotte began in August 2013 and has hosted over 100 events ranging from serviee projeets to soeial events to Jewish learning and more. Its eurrent res idents are Diana Warth, Elana Congress, Audrey Singer, Danielle Soowal, and Matt Hirsehl. Moishe House Charlotte is looking for a new roommate to move in this summer. Birthday Party for Tamara and Diana - Saturday, May 2 at 8:30 PM at Moishe House Char lotte Both Diana and Tamara are turning the big 3-0, so let’s eele- brate them Moishe style. Join us for an all-around fun-filled evening of drinks, snaeks, and epie daneing. No presents please. Instead we ask you to bring your favorite drink to share. 2. Pienie-Style Shabbat with Moishe House CEO David Cy- gielman - Friday, May 8 at 7:30 PM at Moishe House Charlotte Treat yourself to rest, eonver- sation, and Shabbat eelebration at Moishe House Charlotte. Moishe House Founder and CEO David Cygielman will lead an open dis- eussion about the timeless and rieh tradition of Shabbat from his unique perspeetive as a eommu nity leader. David founded Moishe House in 2006 in Califor nia, and the organization has grown to an astounding 76 houses in 17 eountries. We will provide the food. The event will be hap pening on the baek-patio of the house (weather permitting). Don’t miss out on this speeial opportu nity to eelebrate Shabbat with your eommunity in a wonderful setting. 3. JFS Mother’s Day Fun Run and Poppy’s Bagels - Sunday, May 10 from 8 AM - 12 noon at Shalom Park (and Poppy’s Bagels) This year Jewish Family Serv- iees hosts its 5th Annual Mother’s Day Fun Run, and MoHo CLT will join the raee erew as loyal volunteers. Help us help JFS raise money to support their mueh- needed programs. We will be put to good use passing out Gatorade, eheering on runners, and direeting traffie as needed. After the raee. Poppy’s bagels bruneh on us. (And yes, that ineludes ehoeolate milk.) 4. Israel Refieetions - Tuesday, May 19 at 7:30 PM at Moishe House Have you been to Israel? Do you plan to visit Israel? Join us for a night of diseussion about the state of Israel and our personal ex- perienees in the Holy Land. Adi Rodavsky, the Charlotte eommu nity shlieha, will be our speeial guest. Israeli nosh will be pro vided. 5. Charlotte Knights Baseball game — Thursday, May 28 at 7 PM at BB&T Ballpark Charlotte Knights take on the Columbus Clippers at the BB&T Ballpark downtown. Enjoy being outside before the heat of the sum mer with all your Moishe House friends. We will be sitting in the Home Run Seetion.
