Can you imagine just as a child navi gates his/her journey into the world of CJP so did I in my new position? I had to learn about ex isting policies, procedures, how things were always done in the past along with juggling the myr iad of responsibilities that occur on a daily basis. The children that attend CJP are developing friendships. I am also making many new friends including the children and their supportive parents as well as de veloping relationships with the staff, PTO, and Board members. Learning everyone’s name is cer tainly a challenge but receiving the hugs and smiles from the chil dren is the best part of my day. I spend time visiting the class rooms, seeing the children learn, build, paint, write, sort, cut, run, swing, ride, negotiate, and sing. I love to see children engaged in their “work,” which of course is play. I had always heard about Shab- bat at CJP but let me share my very first school wide celebration. The powerful singing of over 240 children, 50 teachers, and many parents, grandparents, and sib lings was awe inspiring. The chil dren are truly engaged in the experience of lighting the Shabbat candles, saying the brachot for the candles, wine, and challah, giving tzedakah, and hugging the Torah. That’s why I took this job, simply to instill a love of Judaism in our children and families. You can see that honest love of Judaism in the faces of the children here at CJP. The children are the future of Ju daism and it’s in their hearts here at CJP. If you want to see it for yourself, you are welcome to join us on Fridays at 9:45 AM in Gore- lick Hall. I have the pleasure of working along with our newly restructured CJP Leadership Team. Ruth Ann Smith is the Director of Opera tions whose responsibilities in clude implementation of State and Sanitation regulations and all CJP building operations. Brooke Amo is the Director of Education and is responsible for all curriculum planning and student develop ment. Alyson Kalik as the Office Manager continues to perform all administrative duties from enroll ment to hot lunch while always keeping our office running smoothly and efficiently. Michelle Bamford, our Finance Manager, is responsible for all financial oper ations of CJP. New beginnings can be hard but my beginning at CJP has just been fantastic. ^ Jhpriions, hmt fWiTi- \ ' Your frifaordinar^clilld deserves an eKtraordinary b education.
