The Charlotte Jewish News - April 2016 - Page 23 “Respect” Is the Watchword at Hebrew High Not everyone ean wear the eolor orange, but the students at Hebrew High looked great as they sported their self-designed orange t-shirts on February 10. The sehool, along with its sister Jew ish ageneies, was partieipating in a eampaign to eneourage teens to advoeate for and promote healthy relationships during “Respeet Week” whieh took plaee February 8-12. February is Teen Dating Vi- olenee Awareness Month. Individuals were eneouraged to “wear orange” and to talk about the meaning behind their fashion ehoiee by diseussing the impor- tanee of promoting respeet and healthy relationships with their peers, while raising awareness about teen dating violenee. The projeet was made possible by Erie Lemer of Aetion Plus Ideas who generously donated t- shirts for all the students. “Re speet Week” is an annual event nationally and is implemented lo- eally by the Teen Dating Violenee Committee eomprised of inter ested ageneies and volunteers. CONGREG^IONS Congregation to Host UNCC Professor for Adult Education Program On April 9, 7:30 PM, Havurat Tikvah will weleome Professor James Walsh for an adult eduea- tion program at a member’s home. Walsh will speak on European publie attitudes toward Muslims and Islam, the rise of the Euro pean right-wing parties and a eomparison of European and Ameriean reaetions to Muslims and Islam. He is a professor of politieal seienee at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and teaehes European polities. Walsh is the author of two books regarding in ternational relations and 19 refer eed journal artieles. He reeeived his B.A. with Honors in Politieal Seienee from Trinity College in 1990 and his Ph.D. in Interna tional Relations from Ameriean University in 1996.
