The Charlotte Jewish News - August 2016 - Page 7 Womert/V hJewy Hadassah Sun City and the Butterfly Project By Dana Kapustin What do butterflies and Hadas sah women have in eommon? At eaeh stage of our lives, we are able to “transform” into the dy- namie and unique roles that our busy lives need us to fufill, and it is ever ehanging. We are beautiful, we eelebrate our individualism, and we soar to great heights. On May 11,1 had the pleasure of fol lowing my heart, as my wings took me to Sun City in Indian Land, SC. Margo Furst and Suly Chenkin organized the event, as Hadassah and the Butterfly Proj- eet share a passion for edueation, ehildren, and advoeaey. Hadassah women are “do-ers,” and the But terfly Projeet is looking for a few good women (and men, too). Lori Semel, Supervisor for the Butterfly Projeet, Suly Chenkin, and I attended a meeting of Hadassah at the Lake House in Sun City on May 11. About 30 women were in attendanee, and Elbe Bantit and Debby Rosen- berger agreed “the women were inspired, and motivated” and they were very pleased with the atten danee. Sun City Hadassah ladies meet onee a month on a Wednesday from 11 AM-1 PM. On May 11, the topie was the Butterfly Proj eet, how Sun City Hadassah Ladies ean learn more about the projeet, and how to volunteer their time at this wonderful experienee. As I looked around the room while Lori explained the history of the projeet, its sueeess, and the logisties of volunteering, I found myself in a room filled with ener- getie, dynamie women. As two of my passions were uniting in front of me, I was truly grateful for the opportunity to meet with these ladies, and answer questions re garding the Butterfly Projeet. Of eourse, no Hadassah meeting would be eomplete without “sim- eha.” An opportunity for us to go around the room and donate a dol lar or two to Hadassah, wishing for health, happiness, or eelebrat- ing eaeh other. If you want to volunteer for the Butterfly Projeet, please eontaet Lori Semel at butterflyprojeet@ eharlottejee.org. As the sehool year ends, over 6000 students have partieipated in the 2015-16 Butterfly Projeet. I know that the Butterfly Projeet and Hadassah ladies shared a beautiful morning together, and I have a feeling it won’t be the last. Please be in toueh with us, either through Lori at the Butterfly Projeet, or you ean email me, dkapu3@gmail.eom to be aetive in the Charlotte Chapter of Hadassah. ^ Josh Rubin’s Plumbing, LLC LICENSED - BONDED - INSURED COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL Layouts for slabs - Rough-in and Finish Water Heater Repairs and Replacement Kitchen/Bath Remodeling Toilets, Tubs, Faucets, Sink, and Disposal Repairs/Replacement 10 YEARS EXPERIENCE ~ A/C State Lie. #29197 SC State Lie. #M110508 704-517-4918 Celebrate the TaTas is a Journey Perhaps you have been invited to a destination wedding, a desti nation birthday party or a destina tion anniversary event, but how about a destination eelebration for a eause?
