The Charlotte Jewish News - November 2016 - Page 19 Youth Wisions Hebrew Highlights The Hebrew High Student Conned for 5777 is made up of 14 amazing students in grades 8 through 12. These student leaders are our sehooTs ambassadors to the eommunity, leading the stu dent body with enthusiasm, pride, and dedieation. Student eouneil members are seen everywhere at Shalom Park. They lead the way in sehool ruach (spirit) and volunteer their time to help at many eommunity events. Look for them at the Purim Carnival, the Yom Ha’atz- maut eelebration and at other mitzvah projeets throughout the year. Within our own program, the student eouneil develops and im plements our Hanukkah, Purim, and end of year eelebrations. This year, they are also hoping to initi ate some soeial programming for 8th through 12th grade students today. Don’t let them miss out on the Hebrew High experienee. It’s the plaee to be on Wednesday nights! ^ New President of J Street U is Brooke Davies Peri Sisskind Cara Dillhyon, Dana Sheinhaus, and Rachel Musa the student body. All of this would not be possi ble without the support and lead ership of the group’s advisor, Rob Sisson. Rob, a popular teaeher at our sehool, makes sure that the students stay foeused and get the job done. It is a pleasure to introduee the newly eleeted offieers of the He brew High Student Couneil for 2016-2017: President - Rachel Musa Vice President - Cara Dillhyon Treasurer - Dana Sheinhaus Secretary - Peri Siskind It’s not too late to enroll your Brooke Davies, a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a graduate of He brew High, was eleeted President of the J Street U National Student Board. In her work with J Street U, Brooke founded the eurrent Duke University ehapter, served as Na tional Communieations Chair, Na tional Edueation Co-Chair and the UNC Chapter Chair. Brooke grew up in Charlotte’s Jewish eommu nity, is aetively involved in her Hillel at UNC Chapel Hill and is a proud alum of the Ramah Darom summer eamp.^ If you caul travel to Israel this November..
