Meetings will be held at the restaurant on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. "As a volunteer for the Gay/Lesbian Switchboard," she said, 'Tve taken a number of calls from women asking where they can go to meet other lesbi ans. Until now, all I could suggest was the bars or MCC. ADVERTISEMENT Easy Money Sell ads for Q-Notes and make easy bucks. "We're open to all women in the gay/lesbian community — singles and couples new to Charlotte, those just com ing out and those who simply want to meet new friends. "We'll have copies of Q-Notes there to keep us up-to-date on happeningsin the community. Events of particular interest will be announced at the dinners. "Other than that, it will be just a tree format." She said that the second and fourth Thursdays coincide with women's nights at The Scorpio so that anyone wanting to continue the evening with music and dancing could do so. "The Hickory House (Barbecue) Res taurant," she said, "is an ideal location for us. It's owned by Rick Carter, a well known member of the community. The food is very good and there is a sepa rate back room for us to use tor the dinners. "I'm real excited about QCF and so far the response from women I've talked with has been very enthusiastic. I'm looking forward to meeting a whole lot of new friends on Oct. 9." ■ ■ ■ To drive to the restaurant tom Char lotte, take the Billy Graham Parkway past the airport and cross over 1-85.
