PAGE 2 Q-Notes ■ September 1987 Bowling League Resumes Sept. 14 From Stcdt And Stolen Kepoits Let's roll those bolls, tolksi The bowling league, under QCQ sponsorship, starts its second year Monday, Sept. 14, at Coli seum Lanes on Independence Boulevard. Anyone interested in participating should attend the or ganizational meeting that night at 8 p.m. Just go to the front desk and ask where the QCQ league is meeting. The league will bowl for 28 weeks at 9 p.m. each Monday. Last season's cost per night was $6 and this year's fee will be in the neighborhood. "You don't have to be a good bowler to participate,'' said Jim Yarbrough, QCQ president. "Our games ranged from 66 to over 200 last season. For the year, our low average was 102 and our high was 153." ■ ■■ Charlotte's levi-leather group, the Tiadesmen, whooped and hollered so much at their August beach party club night — what with eight Qfuests coming up from the TNT club in Columbia — that they're going to have a simple "Hired Labor Party" for club night on Friday, Sept. 4, at the BR. Just foot-long hotdogs, drink specials and the jail. They'll also be recov ering from the Aug. 28-29 trip to Atlanta to help celebrate The Leathermen's 8th anniversary with a trip down the Chattahoo chee. The Encore in Columbia has closed as a gay bar and reopened straight. Sad. ■ ■■ Also sad, but could have been worse: BoomBoom Latour's injured arm. The girl got butch and look what happened! Fell right off that ladder at his family's restaurant and tore ligaments. It (the arm, that is) will be in a sling for a while. They don't make slings big enough to hold all of her, do they, leatherboys? 'The accident happened just hours be fore LaBoom was to ploy a major part in the "Tribute to William Bennett" MAP benefit at Charades. Bar owner Steve Freeman and the cast of 18 had to rush in a replacement, cut and snip, add and subtrad, and record a new tape for the performance. Nevertheless, the cast beautifully performed excerpts from "A SUN MON TUES WED THUR FRI SAT 1 7p Closet Busters at MCC/CharloHe 7:30p FFP Group (MAP) 8p Acceptance 2 5:15 Women's Chorale 7:30p Lambda Chorale 7:30p MCC/CharloHe Bi ble Study 3 7:30p HIV-PosIHve Group 4 8p Acceptance AA Tradesmen's Club Night otBR 5 6 llaMCC/CharloHe 7p New life MCC wor ship and poUuck 7 LABOR DAT 8 7:30p CLOSER'S first meeUng ol season (Asheville) 8p Acceptance > 9 5:15 Women's Chorale 7:30p Lambda Chorale 7:30p MCC/CharloHe Bi ble Study 7:30pQCF TLGA (Raleigh) 10 7:30p HIV-PoslHve Group 8:15 "Life of the Party" 11 7:30pNewUleMCCDtn- ner/Cabaret 8p Acceptance AA 8:15 "Ule ol the Party" 12 8a4p NCLGHP yard sole (Durham) 9a4p Switchboard training 6:30p MCC/CharloHe CoHeehouse 7:30pMGM SpVioilfRaleiaW 13 9a4p Switchboard training llaMCC/CharloHe 7pNewUleMCC 14 6:30p Leadership Coun cil 7:30 PWA Group 8p Bowling starts 15 7:30p FFP Group (MAP) 8p Acceptance shows Him "The Ule & Times Of Harvey Milk" 16 5:15 Women's Chorale 7:30p Lambda Chorale 7:30p MCC/CharloHe Bi ble Study 17 7;30p HIV-PoslHve Group 8:15p "Ule of the Party" 18 8p Acceptance AA 8p Film Society 8:15p "Life of the Party" 19 1 p PGLA picnic (near Clemson) 8:15p "Ule of the Party" Gathering ol Radical Fa eries be^ 20 llaMCC/ChorloHe 7p New Ule MCC 21 9p Bowling 22 8p Acceptance 23 5:15 Women's Chorale 7:30p Lambda Chorale 7:30p MCC/CharloHe Bi ble Study Scorpio MAP benefit 24 FIRST DAT OF BOSHHASHANAH 7:30p KV-PosiHve Group 25 8p Acceptance AA 26 7a-2p Switchboard yard sole 6:30p MCC/CharloHe Potluck 27 1 la MCC/CharloHe 7p New Ule MCC 28 7p "Goy/Lesbian Forum" on CharloHe cable 3 7:30p PWA group 9p Bowling 29 8p Acceptance 30 5:15 Women's Chorale 7:30p Lambda Chorale 7:30p MCC/CharloHe Bi ble Study SEPTEMBER, 1987 Birth Signs VIRGO Aug. 23-Sept. 22 ■ LIBRA Sept. 23-Oct. 22 Bixthstone Chrysolite (ancient); Sapphire (modem) Chorus Line" and "Dreamgirls" under John Dickson's direction. ■ ■■ Speaking of Columbia, as we were a few lines ago, Dennis Mayer said Me nage and Tammy Goye Faker raised $135 for the S.C.
