Rent is a joyous and breathtaking musical that celebrates a community of artists as they struggle with soaring hopes and the tough realities of todays world. Shows are Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8:00pm, Sundays at 7:30pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Tickets range from $22 to $60. Special $20 tickets are avail able for each performance in the front two rows of the orchestra. These tickets go on sale the day of the performance only, two hours prior to showtime, cash only, and with a limit of two tickets per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center Box Office or by calling TicketMaster at (704) 522-6500. 1999 NORTH CAROLINA GAY AND LESBIAN FILM FESTIVAL, in its fourth year and sponsored by Replacements, Ltd., at the Carolina Theatre, 309 W. Morgan St., Durham. This is the final weekend for the festival and single movie tickets are $6.50, sold only at the Fletcher Box Office 45 minutes prior to each showing. T Thursdays - Sundays August 7-21 THE LITTLE FOXES, considered by many to be lesbian playwright Lillian Heilmans best and most enduring play, will be presented at the Thompson Theatre, Talley Student Cen ter, on the NC State University campus, Ra leigh. The play delves into the dynamics of the Hubbard family, all Southern gentility on the surface, schemers consumed by greed under neath. Shows are at 8:00pm Thursdays through Saturdays (August 7, 12-14, 19-21) and at 3:00pm Sundays (August 8 & 15). Tickets are $12.00 (free with season subscription).
