TRIANGLE REGION
NX. Pride Parade set for
Sept. 30,2006
Events promise “nothing
but positives”
DURHAM — The
annual North Carolina
Gay Pride Parade will
take place on Sept. 30
at Duke University East
Campus. Once again,
organizers expect to
draw thousands from
North Carolina and
beyond, calling the NC PrideFest weekend “the
biggest feel good event of the year.”
“PrideFest in the Durham-Raleigh area is
known for being amazingly upbeat and posi
tive,” says Keith Hayes, spokesperson for the
Pride Committee of North Carolina. “The
straight community steps way out in support.
So the parade in Durham is a flawless celebra
tion, and those good vibes turn the night time
activities in Raleigh and elsewhere into the
biggest and brightest
party of the year.”
In 2005, people from
across North Carolina,
across the Southeast and
as far away as Ohio, New
York and California
attended PrideFest activ
ities. This year’s
PrideFest weekend activ
ities and attendance
numbers are expected to
match or exceed those of
2005.
The weekend’s events
continue to firm up, but
will include:
