Resources every
LGBT parent
should have
There are several credible and exciting resources for
LGBT parents raising children. Whether in a relationship and
co-parenting or single, parenting is always a challenge. Add
to the mix that one or more parents are lesbian, gay, bisexual
or transgender, and the issues just get that much more com
plex. Here are some resources to help you in your journey of
parenthood.

or composition, will be able to live in communities that rec
ognize, respect, protect and celebrate them. A national lobby
ing, advocacy, education and support organization, the
Family Equality Council works to ensure equality for LGBT
families by building community, changing hearts and minds
and advancing social justice for all families. Family Equality
Council was formerly known as Family Pride.
COLAGE

reflected and embraced by society and all of its institutions.
American Psychological Association
www.apa.org/pi/parent.html

American Psychological Association (APA) provides a

ents should definitely check out the APAs studies, surveys,
legal reviews and other informational resources.
