Best Carolinas LGBT elected official/politician Readers'pick: Mark Kleinschmidt Honorable mention:duWa Boseman, Chris Cole. Kleinschmidt mayor of Chapel Hill, was quite a popular guy in our QUstthis year— so was soon-to-be former state Sen. Boseman, Kleinschmidt's runner-up.
