This is the opmion of educational authorities who have recently visited our town. The Company has spared pains or cost to provide oui children with whatever is necessary for their development. We are havinp some trouble with our e valves, but our Mr. Will Smith is Ways on the job, and takes care of any echanical trouble that we have the stant it is reported. The concreting between pot room No. and building;: No. 30 has been com- ®ted, and will soon be ready for use. Construction Notes We are all busy these days. The new winp of the school, on Hen- rson Avenue, will be complete and for boys and girls this month. Eight new bungalows on Tallassee Avenue are almost ready to be made into homes. Plans have been made to cover the water pipes on the hillside, and to lay enough concrete sidewalks, that each one of us will have one within a block from our homes, so that Jack Frost and thaw weather will find us equally prepared. Mr. J. U. Monroe, former construction timekeeper, was in town recently. He is now a merchant at Lumberton, X. C. The colored settlement will soon boast of the finest school-building for negro children in this State. All the four hundred houses here are either occupied or waiting for a tenant, and all are equipped with water, sewerage, and elec tric lights, while new water lines are being laid for two hundred of the homes. A separate sewage disposal plant is under construction. There are also three larger boarding houses, a pleasant theater, a dance hall, and a large pool room. Machine Shop News Upon completion of the addition to the Machine Shop, there will be a rearrange ment of the shop, in such a manner that the Blacksmith Department, Machine Shop, and Pipe Fitting Department will be operated independently of one another.
