To Mr. Thorpe, Mr. Wake, the superintendents and fore men in all departments, and also each and every individual who made sacrifices to lend money to the Government, all credit should be given for achieving a result which would do honor to any town in our broad land. Personals Mrs. C. S. Bohannon, who has been spending several months with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Everett, on Falls Road, has returned to her home in Horsford, Fla. Mrs. E. C. Robertson, of Allen, N. C., who was the delightful guest of Mrs. H. C. Nash, on Maple Street, for ten days recently, has returned home. Miss Gertrude Morris has returned from Winston-Salem. The following card has been received by Mr. Thorpe, for the company and other friends of our late townsman: The family of Raymond T. Wangeman acknowledges with grateful appreciation the kind expression of your sympathy. Mr. Julian Woodie has left Badin. We deeply regret his departure, and we wish him much success in his new work. Mrs. Melissa McGyntosh, of Sanford, has returned home after a visit to her daughter, Mrs. F. E. Street. Mrs. Bennett, of Mount Olive, has re turned home after a visit to her brother, Mr. John Manley. Mrs. John Mallory has returned from Baltimore, until the flu epidemic has subsided. Private L. McGehee, who has been in Badin on a furlough, has returned. Miss Evangeline Gay is visiting here for a few days.
