C., CHUMS Aluminum Plant in East St. Louis, HI., has been a visitor in Badin on busmess for the past month. He is staying at the Badin Club. Quite a number of local civilian relief ca.ses have been handled by the Badin Red Cross. If any family of a soldier, white or colored, needs relief, the Red Cross will be glad to help with needed supplies. Mr J. E. Manly, of Stanly Clothing Company, is in the northern markets, making his spring purchasing of stock. He reports they will soon have a com plete stock of new spring goods. Thru an oversight, the name of Mrs. T. A. Early was omitted from the Com mittee of Judges for the Color^ Fair. We take pleasure in correcting this error. Mr. J. W. Frazier will leave on the fifteenth for Baltimore and New York, for spring purchasing. Mrs. Ray Hanly, of Badin Supply Company Millinery De partment, will accompany him. Mr. E. P. Heinzerling, from States ville, N. C., formerly representative of the International Correspondence School, is engaged as computer in the drafting room in the general offices. Mr. Joe Taylor, who was First Machin ist’s Mate in the Naval Aviation Depart ment of our service, has returned to Badin, where he expects to stay, having been honorably discharged. Earle Ferree, formerly of Sprott’s Drug Store, who has been In the Navy, on the battleship Massachusetts, has re turned to Badin, having been released from service. Mrs. John N. Dickson and daughter. Rose, have returned from a visit to Knoxville, Tenn., where they were visit ing Mrs. Dickson’s sister, Mrs. John E. Sterling. Mrs. F. M. Wagner and daughter, Dorothy, have returned from a pro longed visit to Mrs. Wagner’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Kircher, of Belle ville, 111. Miss Florence and -Miss Bessie Dent have come from Newnan, Ga., to join the working forces in Badin, in the steno graphic department and school, respec tively. Mrs. Clyde Nash reports fifty refugee shirts completed for the Belgians. The members especially faithful in this work were Mrs. Spencer and Mrs. Kidd. The husband of Mrs. R. C. Tripp has arrived from France, and is now in :i camp in the North. We hope to welcome him back to Badin very soon. F’irst Sergeant Charles R. Younts paid a visit to Badin during his last furlough. He is expected to be in Badin permanent ly in the near future. Mrs. L. S. Wagner has returned from an extended visit to her relatives in St. Louis. “Wag” is now looking somewhat more cheerful. Mr. Lenny Myers has left for Balti more, where he will be employed in elec trical work with Mr. F. H. Elmore, Jr. Mr. James McNeil, of the now famous Marines, made a visit to Badin, where he was warmly welcomed by his many friends.
