Errors figured largely in their defeats—espe cially when York lost a two-hit game to Albemarle. In the first, May 14, Salis bury was defeated on their home grounds, 10 to 6. On May 31, Badin lost a fourteen- inning contest to Spencer, on our dia mond. The winning run was made on one hit and two errors. June 21, Badin indulged in a batfest at the expense of two Kannapolis twirl- ers. York drove a homer over the right- field fence, and Norwood made the long est hit ever seen on the local diamond, clearing the fence in left center.
