Burns Time Department Notes H. B. Thompson has what he says is a very fine bird dog. The dog has been looking rather bad, as tho he had been kicked around like a hound. Henry saw Ed Biddix, and got a pill for his dog, and now he is eating hearty, and will more than likely develop into a real “dawg.” J. H. Leonard is spending some time visiting friends and relatives at and near Lexington, N. C. Joe is due to return in a few days. Floyd Culp is anxious to see him—we don't just know what he wants. Mr. and Mrs. Biles have returned from a two weeks’ visit to their people in Wingate. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Outen, of that place, are visiting them for a few days, at their home on Spruce Street. Miss Lala Mae Ferabee is spending two weeks’ vacation with her parents, at Mocksville. We miss Miss Ferabee at the office; also Miss “Deweese” at the Club, week-ends. Mrs. Pearl Allred and baby, Lucile, and Mr. Wallace’s two children, Ben, Jr., and Annie Ruth, are spending some time at Mr. Wallace’s old home, in Moore County. Mr. F. L. Greenlea is now working the three to eleven shift at Clock House 39, relieving A. D. Ferree, who has returned to his home at Morganton, to enter school. Rev. J. C. Mizzelle has just returned from a 'trip to Wilmington, where he spent a few days with his son, who has been with the A. E. F. in France. Zu Zu Hadley still goes fishing about eight times a week. If there is anything to fish being good brain food, Hadley should have an excellent brain. Mr. Tilley has had a new drinking fountain installed in the Distribution office. The men in this department are becoming heavy drinkers. If you should want to know something about military tactics. Miss Mary Lou Caldwell could probably give you a few points. Miss Johnnie Ferree has temporarily succeeded Miss Ferabee. She is the calculatingest calculator that ever calcu lated. B. H. Wallace, just a few days ago learned what a real job was, when he moved from Falls Road to 141 Spruce. J. D. Kirk’s father and mother, from Temple, Texas, are visiting him, so he is spending his vacation in Badin.
