It will also help you to lower the cost of living. Let me urge you to make use of this opportunity. F. A. Cummings Charming Sewing Party Mrs. Harold R. Wake and Mrs. Harry J. Smith were hostesses at a very pret tily appointed sewing party, complimen tary to Mrs. Lorain Stewart Wagner, on Monday evening, October 20, at the home of Mrs. Wake, on Henderson Avenue. Mrs. Wagner left the following Thurs day for her old home, in Belleville, Mo. Among those present at this charming farewell party were Mesdames Pannill, Dotson, Clarke, Turner, Allen, Giersch, Dunham, Smith, Wharton, DuBose, Grandy, Fuller, Book, Parks, Early, Cowart, E. F. Smith, Austin, Garrison, Rainey, Wagner, Thorpe, and Coffman. Miss King and Mr. Taylor to Wed in December The announcement following will be read with much interest, both by people m Albemarle and the many friends of the prmcipals thruout the State: Mrs. Ogden D. King announces the engagement of her daughter, Theresa, to Mr. Joseph G. Taylor, of Madison, Wis., the wedding to take place in December.’’ Miss King is a daughter of the late Dr. Ogden D. King, who was born in Washington, N. C., and spent a goodly part of his youth in Wilmington, N. C. Two sisters of Dr. King—Mrs. James H. Chadbourn and Mrs. George D. Parsley —are prominent members of Wilmington society. In his early manhood. Dr. King went to New York, where he practiced medicine for years. Mrs. King was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Davidson Hearne, a brother of Mr. S. H. Hearne, of this place, and was well known as Miss Elizabeth Hearne. Mr. Taylor, a native of Madison, Wis., has for the past six years made his home in Badin, saving that time he spent in the aviation department of the Naval service. He is a graduate of the Univer sity of Wisconsin.—AifiewaWe News.
