Their playing has plenty of swing and “pep,” and they are sure to be in demand not only in Badin but in surrounding towns and cities. A Real Need We need a public library in Badin— we must have one. Some of us have been conscious of this for a long time, but there was no suitable place that could be made accessible to the com munity at large. It now looks as if we have solved that difficulty, and the library must come. Plans are now be ing put into effect, and by the next issue we can make some definite announce ments. We are glad to report that Mrs. C. H. Myers, of No. 1 Ash Street, who has been in hospital In Charlotte for three weeks for treatment, and has undergone two operations, is now Improving very rapidly, and is expected home in a few days. This is not an elf or fairy, but just Olive Smith herself down in the garden, ready for work Mr. F. E. Street is having a pleasant time grading, classifying, and inventory ing the firebrick which have so long needed attention. Personal Notes While Charles Hodley and Henry Wachman were out scalybark hunting at Millertown recently, the former was bitten by a snake. Tho badly frightenedi the boy had sufficient presence of mind to suck the poison from the bitten lini*>> and then hurry to the hospital for treat ment. We are glad to say that Charles now shows no bad results from the e*' perience. Mr. W. H. Russell had a painful acct dent a few days ago. He was pullinl on a large wrench, which slipped the nut and struck him over the left eye- It was an ugly blow, and laid him off several days. Mr. and Mrs. Earl M. Morgan a”'* young son, Earl, Jr., left this week Atlanta, Ga., where they will make the>^ future home. Miss Helen Trexler, of Salisbury, the guest of her sister, Mrs. Edward Dunham, of Tallassee Avenue, during ^ past week. Mr. J. W. Withers, of Atlanta, is the house guest of his daughter, John D.
