The many Badin friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ross wish them good fortune in their new location. While The Bulletin is in the process of make-up—to be more specific, Jan- uary first—Mr. Richards will wed Miss Irene Stacy, at Reidsville. Both are too well known in Badin to make any com ment as to their personality necessary. So we will just use the space to wish for them a long, happy, and prosperous life together. Mr. and Mrs. Mirch L. Fox and lit tle daughter are spending some time in Southern Florida. On their return, they will be at home on Tallassee Avenue. Purchasing Department Takes on Side Line Mr. R. V. Richards, our popular pur chasing agent, has added domestic and household purchasing to his duties. Be ing a strong exponent of the “fetch- and-carry system,” he may be seen ’most any time with sundry appurtenances to housekeeping under his arm. Miss Ruth Kendall, formerly mail and filing clerk, has returned to Badin, after completing a business course at Pough keepsie, N. Y, Mr. Coit H. Jones spent the Christ mas holidays with his relatives, at Wilkesboro, N. C. Miss Cora Williams spent the Christ mas holidays at Mount Gilead, with relatives. Miss Lillian Cornish has returned from a holiday trip to Winston-Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Aiken G. Moore were at Salisbury for Christmas. Carbon Plant Notes Mr. R. E. Lee promises a ride to all carbon plant men, as soon as he can secure a few automobile wheels, tires, bodies, engines, etc., for he has won the famous Hunicutt Overland car, coveted by all of those who indulge in auto mobile pleasures. Messrs. Book and Ed. Smith have been working nights for the last few days, unloading firebrick, from Maryville. Accordmg to them, we must be planning to tear down the whole carbon plant and build it over. Considerable progress has been made on the repairs to No. 1 Carbon baking furnace during the past few weeks, and promises are that we shall be baking large quantities of carbon in the near future. The Calcining Plant will be operating at full capacity in the near future, with the starting up of Bench No. 1, which has been shut down for some time for repairs. Mr. W. R. Young says that there is so much hot air in the baking depart ment that it has become necessary to run two exhaust fans to dispose of it. Mr. R. E. Lee says he is ready to give his slug press operator a raise— the slug press having been raised about six feet recently. Mr. R. E. Lee says that it is not fair that Mr. Biddix has had his picture in The Bulletin and now they refuse to publish his. Mr. G. E. Biddix says his bird dogs are fine this year, but that they haven’t been trained to catch the birds. Mr. Joe Lee spent Christmas with his girl, ’in Fayetteville, and reports the largest time of his life. Mri C. T. Brown has moved his fam- ily to Badin, and has begun working in the Calcining Plant. Mr. Mot Saunders, who worked in th® Plant Laboratory last summer, was ^ visitor last week. Mr. B. A. Williams spent Christmas with his parents, near Monroe. Mr. Bill Steen spent Christmas ii’ Rockingham, with his parents. Mr. C. H. Moritz was our guest io'^ a few days during December. —B. S. L.
