You know she is a nice little girl. And if you board you have the best boarding house in town and wish it were Christmas so you could buy your landlady a present. You wish it were Sunday so you could go to church. My! but you feel fine, and it’s too pretty to kill time sleeping today so you haul out your fishing tackle and dig some bait and go fishing—stay up all day, have a fine time, but catch no fish. Anyway you go to bed about 8.00 o’clock p. m. and get up about 10.00 p. m. and go to work? Old man Hook is there when you get there and he stays with you all night again, but take it from you, you sure will get some sleep tomorrow. Note—This is the third of a series of lessons on Rotary Station Equipment. The next will appear in an early issue. Rotary Station Our latest addition to the Operating Force is Mr. Hurlburt. Mr. Hurlburt has operated in quite a number of sta tions, but thinks our layout here is the •best yet. Mr. B. J. May has been blue all the week just because the “pictures” stopped at the beginning of a good fight. B. J. says, “ ’Tain’t fair.” Mr. E. M. Talbot is in Long’s Sana torium at Statesville where he will un dergo an operation. Earl Leinster is back on his old job again in the rotary station. Mechanical Department Mr. Robert Morris, our Motor Me chanic, went to Salisbury a few days ago and drove an Avery Tractor down to the Company farm. Bob got two hours extra for that day on account of the slow speed of the tractor and says it doesn’t have much comforting accom modations in its makeup, and especially on the road for a long drive. Mr. W. G. Smith is with us again after being out for a few days’ vacation, and we hope that it was a successful one. Anyway he brought Mrs. Smith back with him. We welcome them to our city, and hope for them much suc cess in life. Note the Mechanical Safety Commit tee, Mr. Chalmers especially. He said he tried to borrow a necktie to have his picture made and the “Guy” wanted to tax him “Two Bits.” Tom said that he didn’t need to buy another tie. Mr. W. 0. Young, who has been Loco motive Craneman for the past two years has left the services of the Company and will go to Birmingham, Ala. Mr. H. L. Allen, of Baltimore, formerly of this city, will succeed him as Locomotive Craneman. Mr. Harry S. Leafe one of our sales men has purchased a home in New Lon don and makes the trip daily in his car. He says, “Really after all New London is a good place to live.'” Wonder how many folks thought there was a fire the other day when the fire whistle sounded? Just moving it from the carbon plant to Building 25, Rotary Station. Mr. J. R. Coggins has been out for several days with an attack of appen dicitis, but is recovering without an ope ration. Mr. J. H. Mason has moved to Char-^^. lotte, where he has a position with theV,J* Mecklenburg Iron Works. Another good hat destroyed! To Mr. and Mrs. Ragsdale, a girl, April 23. Mr. A. L. Smith was elected president and R. P. Ress, manager. To date the opening game of the Departmental League has not been decided on but it will probably be in the early part of May. Mr. Tom Ross formerly a part of the Purchasing Department, and now con nected with Dewey Brothers at Golds boro spent a few hours in Badin one day recently. Mr. Rex Kelley is contemplating a visit to Sanford says there will be two coming back. Wonder if it is a helper for the drafting room. Mrs. R. V. Richards has a slight case of malaria. V(e hope she will soon be well again as she is missed in the office. Main Office Notes Mr. Earl Morgan after being out of Mr. R. A.
