As supper was to be cooked in the woods in real Scout fashion, the boys were loaded down with “chow,” and Was evident that “starvation” would ^ot be the result of our hike. After a bully supper of “hot dogs,” broiled steak, fried eggs, and roast potatoes, came the evening campfire, ^hich the boys gathered around in a ^aj'ge semi-circle, listening to the jokes and yarns of the Scoutmaster. The next part of the even ing was devoted to some good old camp songs, after which we raised our hands in the Scout sign, and repeated the Scout oath, then, bowing our heads, we offered a silent prayer of thanks to Him who is the Giver of every Good and Perfect Gift. After packing our equipment, we climbed the hill, and wound our way, happy, and singing lustily as only Scouts can, over the trail which led toward home.. Clarence E. Shriner Scoutmaster Pastor and Mrs. Arnette attended the meeting of the Southern Baptist Con vention, at Washington, D. C., May 12 to 17, where Pastor Arnette represented the aged Ministers’ Relief Work for North Carolina. They report a great convention. Mrs. Lilly: I want a slice of ham, Mr. Dry, please.
