It is with much pleasure and grati
tude that the citizens of North Badin
look upon the' new moving picture and
Vaudeville house which is being erected
i'l one of the most important and costly
locations in the village. This house,
which is very modern in all I’espects, is

l^ecause it is being erected by one of the
^'ty's own business colored men, Mr.

Is a building erected by Mr. Brooks

snd will be operated by Brooks and Lee,
the barbers.
^Ir. Brooks says that the building will
completed very shortly, and he prom-

courteous treatment, good order, and

Miss Tyson is one of the most highly
I’espected young ladies in this section of
the State, and she has many friends
not only in Norwood, her home, but also
in Albemarle and in Salisbury, where
she attended Livingstone College for
several years.
Mr. Bancroft, who is a New Yorker
by birth, came to Badin more than four
teen months ago. He has worked faith
fully since coming to Badin, and has
carried himself in such a way here that
he has gained many friends, and is high
ly respected by both races.

“The Coolest Place in Town.” Battle
Brothers have opened a very inviting
ice ci'eam and cold drink parlor, ,on
Roosevelt Street, next door to the Badin
Supply Company, .They are serving the
people with pure Arctic ice cream. In
the rear of the icc cream parlor is a
first class tailor and repair shop, ope
rated by Mr. Henry Fennell, a new
comer to our town.
Rev. Hoskins, i)astor of the Shiloh
Baptist Church, of Greensboro, N. C.,
preached in the community building on
last Wednesday night. Rev. Hoskins is
Moderator of the^ Greensboro Associa
tion, and came to Badin in special inter
est of the school which will be organized
within the bounds of this Association.

College, Augusta, Ga.; Claflin Univer
sity, Orangeburg, S. C.; Plarbison Col
lege, Irmo, S. C.; Livingstone College,

Greensboro, N. C.
Mr. Walter James, Proprietor White
Front Bicycle Shop, boasts the fact that
he was the first person in North Badin
to get beans enough from his garden to
eat and sell. Ai’ound the last of May,
Mr. James was successful in getting
about two gallons of beans out of his
garden.
North Badin is still growing in inhab
itants and in business. We are proud
to have here in North Badin a dentist.
The dental parlor is located in one of
the upstairs rooms of the Badin Stock
Company building, next door to Crump’s
Cafe, over Brooks and Lee’s Bai’ber Shop.
Mile. P. Vonlee has returned from
her home in High Point, where she spent
several days with her parents. She was
accompanied back to Badin by her
nephew. Master Wilfred Farrington.
