Time Office Notes Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Currie have re turned from their two-weeks’ vacation ^nd honeymoon, visiting Mr. Currie’s people in Robinson County, and other points of interest in eastern North Caro lina. Their many friends wish for them niuch happiness and a long and pros perous life. Mr. Joe H. Leonard, of the Distribu tion Department, began his vacation the thirty-first of July. We haven’t any *dea as to where Joe went, but we feel sure that he could not possibly go very from Badin—for “where the heart is, there will he be also.” Mr. L. R. Efird, a girl; this event bringing a double pleasure to Mr. Efird by reason of the fact that it made it necessary ta take his vacation. Miss Johnnie Ferree started on her vacation the thirty-first of July. The writer is unable to ascertain whether she will mix a honeymoon with this trip or not. Messrs. B. H., and Wade H. Wallace have visited their mother in Rocking ham, who is very feeble. We hope for her a speedy recovery. Carbon Plant Notes Somehow we feel that we are very close to the Reclamation Department. We suppose this is because they occupy our back yard. At times we feel that they are too close to us. But we haven’t missed very much equipment lately. The Reclamation Department is all ^i^ht, thpugh. They have the distinction of employing the tallest man in Stanly County, Mr. G. E. Austin, who measures 6 feet 9% inches from tip to tip. Mr. M. P. Maxwell, pf the Efficiency Department of the Alcoa Carbon Plant, was a visitor to the Badin Works last week. We have been hearing, quite a lot, in an indirect way, about the Alcoa Works, but were glad to get some first hand information, and to learn that the Carbon Plant is now turning out fin ished electrodes. The cashier’s office advises that Mr. Biddex should order out a truck when coming after his weekly production bonus. Ed says he will get them yet, and maybe some of these times he will make them burn the midnight oil trying to figure out just how much bonus he did make. We are not demanding an explanation of how half of a perfectly good Slug Press got into the Reclamation Depart ment, but it certainly would be of in terest to know just how it found its way out there. Mr. G. E. Gist, foreman of the plaster ing gang, has been called to his home at Florence, S. C., on account of his wife’s illness. We hope that she will soon be quite well again. Mr. G. G. Caudle has been promoted from Helper to Operator in the Calciner. —L. G. D. Messrs. R. E. Lee and B. S. Liles have been nosing around the Extrusion de partment for the last few days, looking as though they had lost something. They did not seem inclined to divulge what it was they had lost, but it finally leaked out. Anyone finding three or four points of Green Density wandering
